After spilling something on the Tempur Pedic mattress, you may think that it is not easy to clean but really not! It is very easy to clean the stains on the Tempur Pedic mattress just by using simple household things.
For simple stains, just damp the towel in the liquid detergent and rub it on the stains. Finally, dry the mattress completely. To clean up the entire mattress sprinkle some baking soda on the mattress and vacuum the entire surface.
To avoid stains caused by spills, protect the Tampur Pedic mattress with a mattress cover. Adding cover to the mattress will always protect your Tampur Pedic mattress from spills and the stains caused due to spillages.
Cleaning the whole Tempur Pedic mattress
When you start cleaning the mattress, first step starts with removing the mattress cover, using mattress pad will increase the life of your mattress. This will even protect your Tempur Pedic mattress from spills and stains. When you start cleaning, first remove the cover and jump into action.
After removing, wash the cover properly. Read the manufacturer’s instructions properly instructed on the mattress tag. While most of the mattress covers are cleaned easily in washing machine, in such cases, you can clean the mattress in the washing machine using cold water. Follow gentle wash option to clean the mattress cover without harming its fabric.
While you clean the mattress, avoid using chemicals that harm your mattress fabric. Avoid using products that contain chlorine and bleach.
After washing the mattress cover, just go through the instructions once again because some of the mattress covers should undergo machine drying under low or moderate heat. Although, many of the manufacturer’s advice air drying the mattress because it is gentler and do not harm the fabric. For maintaining the good quality of the mattress air dry is the best option.
Sprinkle baking soda
After drying, sprinkle baking soda or borax powder on the mattress as it will absorb the odors and remaining moisture settled in the mattress. Sprinkle baking soda or borax over the surface of the mattress and make sure that the baking soda is covered well on the entire mattress.
Even you can use corn starch instead of using baking soda or use both in 50-50 portion mixture; this will work effectively on your mattress.
Let the baking soda be on the mattress for an hour. Leave the baking soda or cornstarch on the mattress at least 60 minutes so this will take away the remaining moisture and odor on the mattress.
Vacuum the mattress
Finally, after sprinkling the baking soda on the mattress vacuum the mattress completely. If you don’t want to use a vacuum cleaner on the mattress, use upholstery attachment to the upright vacuum and remove baking soda from the mattress. Repeat this step two or three times over the entire surface of the mattress clearly. Do not sprinkle baking soda on the wet mattress as it turns in to paste-like layer on the mattress and it is very difficult to clean.
